Carbon Industry Elders

There are many carbon calculators on the internet.   Most calculators are hosted on the websites of carbon offset companies or nonprofits that are quite young - only a few months or one or two years old.   

Can these providers be trusted?  Will they be around in 12 months from now?   Which carbon providers are 'veterans' in the nascent carbon marketplace? 

In March 2006 we compiled a listing of the only carbon footprint calculators found on the web.  We make no guarantees that these organizations are top-quality providers.  We simply are providing this list - in no particular order - to show the 'carbon industry elders'.
